Godot
Dodge the Creeps
Dodge the Creeps is the official “your first Godot game” loop. A player moves, creeps spawn, a timer scores hits. If the docs told you to build a first game, this is the repo that matches those pages.

Who it is for
- People opening Godot for the first weekend
- Teachers who want a 30-minute live demo
- Anyone who needs spawn + score before a platformer
What you can learn
- Player motion with input actions
- Spawning enemies on a timer
- A HUD score and a game-over restart
Clone and run
- Install Godot 4.
- Open 2d/dodge_the_creeps inside godot-demo-projects (clone or ZIP).
- Import project.godot and press Play.
This is not a platformer. There are no tiles and no jump. The value is a complete arcade loop you can finish reading before dinner, then swap the sprites for a jam theme.
Follow the official “Your first 2D game” doc beside the code. The demo is the finished state of that tutorial, not a separate engine feature dump.
Public repositories. The short descriptions are written for this site.
