Unreal Engine
Lyra starter mirror
Lyra is Epic’s shooter starter: experiences, weapons, and a framework meant for Unreal 5. This listing points at a community mirror so you can read the source on GitHub. For a new game, prefer Epic’s current Lyra from the launcher or Fab, then use the mirror only if you need a public git history.

Who it is for
- Teams already on Unreal 5
- People comparing Unreal’s shooter stack to Godot TPS or Unity FPS
- C++ comfortable; not a Blueprint-only first week
What you can learn
- How Lyra splits game experiences and weapons
- Unreal Gameplay Ability patterns in a starter
- What “AAA-shaped” Unreal project layout looks like
Clone and run
- Install Unreal Engine 5 from the Epic launcher (version noted in the mirror README).
- Prefer adding Lyra from Epic. If you use the GitHub mirror, clone Mortal/LyraStarterGame and generate project files.
- Open the .uproject, compile, and PIE. Expect a long first shader compile.
Epic’s license terms apply to Lyra. A GitHub mirror is for reading; shipping still follows Unreal’s EULA. Do not treat the mirror as the legal distribution channel.
