Godot
TPS demo
The TPS demo is Godot’s public 3D shooter scene. It is larger than the 3D platformer: a character, a camera, weapons, and a level meant to be shown on stage. Clone it when you need to see Godot 3D under load, not a cube jumping on boxes.

- Engine
- Godot Engine
- Language
- GDScript
- Genre
- shooter
- License
- MIT
Who it is for
- People past the 3D platformer demo
- Teams comparing Godot 3D to Unity or Unreal with a shooter
- Anyone who needs a camera + weapon baseline
What you can learn
- Third-person camera and aiming
- Weapon and animation hooks in a Godot 3D tree
- How an official showcase level is packaged
Clone and run
- Install a current Godot 4.x that matches the demo’s README.
- Clone godotengine/tps-demo (its own repo, not the demo-projects tree).
- Import the project and Play. Read the README for export templates if the scene is empty.
This is an advanced read. Scripts and assets assume you already know the scene tree. Use it as a reference after the 3D platformer, not as a first Godot install.
The license is MIT, like the engine. Credit the Godot demo authors if you ship a derivative.
Public repositories. The short descriptions are written for this site.
