Unity
Unity 2D tech demos
Unity’s 2d-techdemos repo is a set of official 2D slices: tilemaps, animation, a small roguelike layout. Open it when you already have Unity Hub and you want engine samples, not a complete commercial 2D game.

Who it is for
- C# developers comparing Unity 2D with Godot 2D
- People learning tilemaps inside Unity
- Intermediate: these are samples, not a first-hour tutorial
What you can learn
- Unity tilemap and 2D animation samples
- How official 2D scenes are split in one repo
- A small roguelike layout as a Unity 2D reference
Clone and run
- Install Unity Hub and a Unity version listed in the repo.
- Clone Unity-Technologies/2d-techdemos and Add project from disk.
- Open a sample scene from the project window and press Play.
The license is the Unity Companion License, not MIT. You can use the samples in Unity projects under that license; read it before you copy large chunks into a Godot port.
Expect older package names. If Unity asks to upgrade, accept the official 2D packages and re-open the scene.
Public repositories. The short descriptions are written for this site.
